Trailer Training

Whether you need to take the test to add the trailer entitlement to your driving licence or just need a quick refresher we can tailor a course for you. Do you need to take a trailer test? Check if you need to take a trailer test here: www.gov.uk/towing-with-car Refresher This can vary from a couple of hours in the yard brushing up on reversing skills to a few hours drive to "get the feel" of towing a trailer again. Trailer Training Course The course is for the candidate who needs to take the DVSA test. This consists of a 2 hour period in the yard to practice the reversing manoeuvre and the uncoupling and re-coupling exercise, together with the safety questions regarding the trailer and vehicle. Notes are provided to help you remember what the process involves. This is followed by a day's on the road training around  Caernarvon and Bangor to familiarise you with the area. We then return to Caernarvon on the second day and do the test in the afternoon. All training and the test is carried out in our tow car and Ivor Williams box van trailer which is loaded with the weight specified by the DVSA Course for Two Sometimes candidates prefer to double up and to do the course with a friend or work colleague, in this case the course would be extended to 3 days, the off-road element being extended accordingly and we would have 2 days on the road training , and return for the both tests on the third day. To see what format the test takes have a look at the DVSA link: www.gov.uk/car-trailer-driving test If you want to check any aspect of driving procedure or to refresh your memory, have a look at the highway code: www.gov.uk/browse/driving/highway- code-road-safety
